The European Language Label (ELL) is an award whose aim is to highlight and reward innovative and creative initiatives in the field of teaching and learning languages. It also functions as a stimulus to uncover and disseminate results of such initiatives, while promoting public interest in improving language skills.

The label is awarded annually or biennially to the most innovative language learning projects in each country participating in the initiative. By supporting these projects at national level, the label seeks to raise the standards of
language teaching across Europe.

The European Language Label is coordinated by the European Commission. In 2019, it was introduced in Serbia too and is locally implemented by the Foundation Tempus.
